In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the first day of the conference devoted to preparation of the architectural and urban planning development concept of city neighborhood units 4, 7 and 8 was held. The site visit was conducted by the chief architect of the city Mr. Maxim Efanov and the senior architect of RTDA Ms. Maria Vinogradova-Frank.

RTDA together with the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk prepared concept development guidelines (Scope of Work) for designers. These are companies with experience in developing of Moscow renovation concepts: MLA +, UNK project architects, Ostozhenka AB, Offer Dialog in a consortium with MADMA, and Far Eastern Architectural Company in a consortium with Nikken Sekkei.

In addition to the city administration, the first vice-mayor Ms. Natalya Kuprina and the head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Denis Yu, the conference was attended by representatives of the architectural and business communities (developers and entrepreneurs).

A discussion about the potential and prospects for the development of these territories was led by the RTDA CEO Ms. Marina Lepeshkina. All participants of the conference noted the need to involve citizens in the process of making recommendations and wishes when developing concepts.
