What the new Yandex headquarters looks like 1.5 years before opening

At the beginning of October, concrete works were finished at the new Yandex headquarters. Now the erection of elements of the building's façade and roofing structures is underway, and the works on roof covering will begin in November. The building is expected to be completely closed next spring.

The ground part of the headquarters is represented by three office wings of different heights made of concrete, and a central atrium made of steel structures united into a single complex.

In the office wings, as one of the features of the project, there will be a lot of architectural concrete - columns, walls and coffered ceilings. The diagonal grid of coffered ceilings visually breaks up the space of the floor space. Also, according to the architects, the main part of the coffered ceilings may be covered with wooden panels, but this interior design solution is still to be confirmed by the client, since after erecting the coffered ceilings it turned out that the structure itself has an interesting appearance.

The building has a unique roofing design characterized by a complex, unusual shape. According to the architects, “it will create a dynamic perception of the building from the outside, which should change depending on the time of day and climatic conditions.”

The headquarters provides three floors of underground parking to accommodate up to 1,500 cars. There will also be separate parking spaces for motorcycles and bicycles. One of the parking floors is almost completed, and navigation is already being tested.

The project was developed by PLP Architecture (London) in collaboration with APEX and RTDA.

P.S. We would add for ourselves, the RTDA team has worked hard and actively on this project, is continuing to monitor its construction progress and is proud of its participation in the creation of a new significant city facility.
